Dorothy Cwaygel

Mrs. Cwaygel was my 1st grade teacher at Melzer School back in 1969-70. My favorite all-time teacher ever. So much so, that 11 years ago, I contacted her via mail after much research to find her. She wrote me back promptly and shared how she was, the activities she was still doing and the travel. I believe she wrote that she was still taking classes. She was always amazing to me, so kind, thoughtful, and the best teacher I’ve ever had. She will always stay in my heart. Rest in peace Dorothy. And my sincerest condolences to the family, and many of friends she made along the way her journey of life. ❤️

I was a sixth grade teacher at Melzer school in Morton Grove Illinois from 1969 to 1971 and was lucky enough to have known Dorothy in my short two years at that school.
She was always a kind and gracious woman who knew the power of the human smile.
Dorothy always left a positive impression on those who met her. May her memory be for a blessing.

Dorothy’s daughter Patti was my best friend in college so I’ve known Dorothy a really long time. Throughout those years she always impressed me with her rigorous intellect and love of life and family. She was an amazing person and will be missed.
